A man died Sunday night after suffering an apparent stab wound in Junction City.

The Junction City Police Department said officers responded just after 8 p.m. to the 500 block of West Ninth Street for a report of a person suffering from a stab wound.

Officers located an adult man with what appeared to be a stab wound and began lifesaving measures. The victim was transported by Junction City EMS to Stormont Vail Flint Hills Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family members.

Police said all individuals present during the incident have been identified and interviewed. No arrests have been made, and authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the community.

The case remains under investigation and will be forwarded to the Geary County District Attorney’s Office for review to determine whether charges are warranted.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Junction City Police at 785-762-5912 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 785-762-8477.
