Manhattan High volleyball saw its season come to an end one win short of the Class 6A state tournament, falling to Centennial League rival Washburn Rural in three sets Saturday in the Class 6A West sub-state championship at MHS.

The Indians won the opening set 25-17, but Washburn Rural responded with 25-15 and 25-21 victories to secure its state tournament berth. Manhattan, looking for its fourth straight state trip, finished the season 27-11.
