A Dodge City man has been arrested in Oklahoma after an hours long manhunt on Sunday for him after he shot and killed two men in a Dodge City bar. Police say that the suspect, 36-year-old Ricardo Cadena-Garcia used a small caliber handgun to shoot and kill a 29-year-old male who was pronounced dead on the scene. Cadena-Garcia then fired multiple shots that hit three people, killing another person and wounding two others. The Manhattan City Commission reviewed changes to animal ordinances at Tuesday’s work session as the city prepares to transition shelter services to nonprofit Prairie Paws. At issue are some changes to licenses and compliance fees for pet owners. Prairie Paws Executive Director Vanessa Cowie, Commissioners gave consensus to move forward with the changes presented. The Manhattan City Commission met Tuesday to discuss the sale of the Manhattan Town Center to Rockstep Capital, LLC. It’s the fifth time the mall has been for sale since 2015. Rockstep President Andy Weiner spoke about why he thinks the area is great for future development. Commissioners unanimously approved the sale. John Matta says he was pleased that the developers were using an alternative use model. Manhattan City Commissioners unanimously approved the first reading of a rezoning request for the former Ag Press site, near 15th and Yuma Street, Tuesday. The decision clears the way for the development of a proposed dining, recreation and entertainment venue. Community Development director Stephanie Peterson explains where the rezoning will take place. Commissioner Linda Morse. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a fire of a stolen truck that was found in rural Manhattan on Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene at the 5400 block of Blue River Road in rural Manhattan just after 4:10 am on Thursday morning to discover a Ford F150 truck on fire.
