The Chinese restaurant in Aggieville Hunam Express has closed down. Executive director of the Aggieville Business District Dennis Cook says that the restaurant is expected to be replaced.  “They’re in a remodel mode,” he said. “Hunam is going to become a breakfast place called Full Circle.” Cook also mentioned that Gordo’s, the former Mexican restaurant that closed down last year will be replaced by a new Mexican restaurant called 1800 Tacos and Tequila. The Big 12 is considering a private equity investment, something that has never been considered in the history of college athletics. The conference is currently in discussions with a Luxemborg based equity firm CVC that could give the conference anywhere between $800 million to $1 billion in exchange for anywhere between 15 to 20 percent stake of the league with a portion of the money to the conference’s 16 teams. In a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel, the Big 12 Conference is looking to sell its naming rights to a title sponsor that could generate the conference millions of dollars in revenue. This commercial sponsor would potentially take the word “Big” out of the conference name and instead of go by the sponsor’s name. Sports Illustrated has further reported that the conference is looking at Allstate and other companies as a potential sponsor. Manhattan will be hosting its 35th annual Juneteenth celebration this weekend beginning with the Fashion Show at the Manhattan Arts Center on Thursday at 6 pm. Juneteenth Planning Committee chair Jurdene Coleman explained more about the show during an interview on KMAN’s In Focus. Coleman says that the fashion show will be focused on showing how black culture has influenced fashion throughout the decades. With the recent announcement of Caterpillar shutting down in Wamego, Manhattan Area Technical College is looking to lend a hand to the displaced workers who are looking for a new job. MATC President Jim Genandt says that he has reached out to the county and listed some ways the college will be lending a hand. Genandt said that the decision was quite surprising for the college. The Clay County Hospital Foundation’s campaign to support the construction of a new mental health clinic and expansion of the Clay Center Familiy Physician has attracted broad financial support from the region. According to campaign director Dan Thalman, the campaign has surpassed its initial goal of raising $150,000 by raising well over $200,000. The organization is now striving to reach a goal of $300,000. Construction of a 6,700 square foot addition is set to begin in August. The $3.8 million project includes a 2,400 square foot mental health clinic and a 4,300 square foot expansion of Clay Center Family Physicians.…
