Manhattan High volleyball saw its two-game win streak snapped earlier this week, competing in a triangular at Mill Valley on Monday. The Indians drop to 4-8 on the season after falling to the host Jaguars and Tonganoxie High. In the opener against Mill Valley, Manhattan fell in straight sets. The Indians only trailed Shawnee Mission East who scored sub-300 for the tournament title. The Lancers’ tally of 296 was only challenged by Manhattan at 304. In third was Olathe West at 346. The Riley County Police Department is investigating a scam involving a man posing as an RCPD lieutenant. RCPD officers filed a report of fraud Tuesday at around 1 p.m. where a 38-year-old male victim reported he withdrew money from his bank and deposited it into a CoinStar machine in a scam that involved an unknown subject posing as a lieutenant from Riley County Police Department. Kansas Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) recently introduced the bicameral and bipartisan Farmer First Fuel Incentives Act requiring the Treasury Department to restrict the eligibility of the 45Z Tax Credit to renewable fuels made only from domestically sourced feedstocks and extending the tax credit to make it a full ten-year credit.
