Officers listed a 19-year-old female as the victim when it was reported her 2016 black Chevy Cruise was stolen after having lost her keys the day prior. Law enforcement agencies across Kansas have been on high alert after a series of school threats that have targeted at least 12 schools in the northeast Kansas area. Six northeast Kansas school districts have had threats made against them recently, prompting some law enforcement agencies to heighten enforcement efforts. Assistant superintendent Nathan Downs on Wednesday told the Manhattan-Ogden school board there were 154 students who switched elementary schools and 71 who transferred from one middle school to the other. The district did not allow for any out-of-district transfers this school year. According to state legislation passed in 2022, students may attend school in any district regardless of where they live, although a school board may determine if it has enough extra spots available to allow for transfers.
