Riley County Police are investigating a theft case reported Tuesday afternoon at a Manhattan restaurant. Officers filed the report Sept. 23 around 1:47 p.m. in the 600 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard. Police said Carlos O’Kelly’s and a 31-year-old woman were listed as victims after an unknown suspect fraudulently took money as payment. The total loss is estimated at $1,800. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact RCPD or Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Tipsters using Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward of up to $1,000. The Riley County Police Department says two people are in custody following a two-month investigation into a string of vehicle burglaries. According to Wednesday’s report, 19-year-old Adyson Westgate of Wamego was arrested Monday on Hayes Drive for two counts of criminal use of a financial card and one count of vehicle burglary. She was released after posting a $10,000 bond. The next day, 25-year-old Jesup McClelland of Manhattan was arrested on Freemont Avenue for three counts of criminal use of a financial card. Manhattan High girls golf tied for the championship Monday at the Firebird Invitational, finishing in line with Shawnee Mission East at 316 on the par-70 layout at Lawrence Country Club. Junior Maddie Myers led the way by claiming medalist honors with a 3-over-par 73, edging Shawnee Mission East’s Ella Slicker by one stroke. Mike Gundy, one of college football’s most colorful coaches over the last two decades, has been fired at Oklahoma State, according to multiple media reports. The 58-year-old Gundy had a career record of 170-90 at his alma mater, where he was a star quarterback in the late 1980s.
