The MHS girls (14-8) finished the year with a sub-state championship loss to Washburn Rural and earned four placements on the All-Centennial League roster. By Emma Loura A version of Senate Bill 199, regarding the statewide sale of fireworks passed by both house and senate. The bill passed in the senate on Feb. 19 and passed in the house on March 18. By Ned Seaton State Rep. Angel Roeser of Manhattan has again played a swing-vote role on a contested issue in the statehouse. Roeser switched her vote Tuesday to provide the necessary margin for Republicans to override a veto by Gov. Laura Kelly, a Democrat. The override means that a law will go into effect that requires all mail-in ballots to be counted by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
