By Tim Everson After setting an initial goal of raising $20,000 for his former high school principal’s cancer battle, Kansas State sophomore quarterback Avery Johnson’s fundraising efforts have far surpassed that with help from fans both of K-State and other Wildcat opponents’ across the country. Dr. Chris Botts’, the principal at Maize High School, was diagnosed with large-cell neuroendocrine thymic cancer in March of 2022, according to Johnson’s fundraiser profile on champsraise.com. Officers filed a report of theft in the 100 block of Bluemont on September 27, 2024, at approximately 5:32 AM.  Officers listed Wal-Mart as the victim when it was reported an associate, now former, had stolen from them on eighteen separate occasions. Total loss associated with this report is approximately $1,400. Manhattan High volleyball saw its two-game win streak snapped earlier this week, competing in a triangular at Mill Valley on Monday. The Indians drop to 4-8 on the season after falling to the host Jaguars and Tonganoxie High. In the opener against Mill Valley, Manhattan fell in straight sets.
