RCPD filed a report for the offense of motor vehicle theft in the 2300 block of Stagg Hill Road in Manhattan yesterday. Officers were told that Enterprise had become the victim of theft when a 2016 Chevy Cruze was not returned or paid for by a customer. At the time of this report, officers were investigating this loss of approximately $20,516. No arrests had been made at the time of this report. Updated Wednesday evening: A Manhattan man who is a K-State student now faces a murder charge in connection with a Wichita shooting reported Monday. Dane Thomas Owens, 27, was originally charged with attempted murder in the shooting which left a 22-year-old woman in critical condition. She has since died. Booking reports indicate on Wednesday, that charge has been upgraded to intentional first-degree murder. Earlier reports were that the unidentified victim and Owens were in a relationship but had broken up a few weeks ago. Solomon Yoseph Grice, a fire control repairer with 101st Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Inf. Div., went missing Oct. 2 and was found by local law authorities in Nevada Oct. 4. The 1st Inf. The AUSA conference got started Monday with a “superb opening ceremony” according to retired Brigadier General Phil Mattox, who serves as President of Ft. Riley’s AUSA. Mattox indicates the ceremony included a small bit of history of the Army, with opening remarks of  General Carter Ham, National AUSA President,  former Commander of 1st Infantry Division and Secretary of the Army Honorable Eric Fanning. Even though a judge has ruled Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach must allow thousands of potential voters to register without providing citizenship documents, Riley County election officials would prefer voters to still use the state form, which requires such documentation.
