OLATHE — Friends say a pregnant woman whose death is being investigated as a homicide had expected to learn the gender of her baby on the day she died. The Kansas City Star reports that 23-year-old Ashley Harlan was found dead Tuesday inside an Olathe townhome. The local Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program has begun offering its families a new way to shop for their food benefits using an electronic benefit transaction card, according to a press release from the Riley County Health Department.
