A pedestrian was severely injured Wednesday night four miles west of Manhattan on K-18. James Davis, 37, of Georgia, was transported via helicopter to Stormont Vale Hospital in Topeka then taken to KU Med after he was hit by a westbound Ford Focus driven by 26-year-old Michael Graf-Dedonder of St. George, who was uninjured. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Davis ran across the roadway southbound and was struck in the left lane. No further information is available at this time.

Officers filed a report for criminal use of a financial card in Savannah, Georgia, on Aug. 9, 2017 at approximately 11:30 AM. Officers listed Karen Garwood, 60, The Fresh MarketWebs, Dick Sporting Goods, TJ Max, Dress Barn, Rack Room Shoes, Massage Envy, Pepboys, Loft, Carrabbas, and Capitol Federal as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect purchased multiple items with Garwood’s financial card without permission. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has identified the Fort Riley man killed in a confrontation with police shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday in Junction City, according to a news release from the bureau. The KBI identified 23-year-old Peter James Robbins as the man who was shot and killed by officers after refusing their commands to drop two handguns he possessed outside the Walmart Neighborhood Market. In a written announcement posted on K-State Today Wednesday, KSU President Richard Myers said he has accepted the resignation of K-State Provost and Senior Vice President April Mason. Mason announced her resignation Tuesday, also through a letter posted on K-State Today. Mason wrote that when former university president Kirk Schulz announced his resignation from KSU in March 2016, she was a finalist for Chancellor at University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
