K-State football has added another commitment to it’s Class of 2025 with four-star offensive lineman Brock Heath makng public his pledge to join the Cats. The Blue Valley Northwest senior-to-be is the second offensive lineman to commit to the Cats, picking the squad over a number of Big 12 and Big 10 teams such as in-state rival KU and Iowa. The USD 383 Manhattan-Ogden Board of Education on Wednesday voted unanimously to establish Boys and Girls Club programs at Frank V. Bergman and Ogden elementary schools, the only two without a previous on-site partnership. The two schools had before-and after-school programs before using 21st Century Community Learning Center grants, but ongoing complications including financial problems and low staffing prompted the district to seek an expansion of its agreement with Boys and Girls Club. Kansas U.S. Senator Roger Marshall and Colorado’s Michael Bennet hosted a field hearing yesterday, highlighting drought concerns in the High Plains. A male subject was airlifted to a Wichita Hospital on Wednesday afternoon after he was struck by a boat prop in the water. Geary County Emergency Management reported on Facebook that emergency vehicles responded to East Rolling Hills at Milford Lake at around noon today to find a male injured in the water. Bystanders on scene treated the subject until emergency personnel arrived. The subject was then flown to a Wichita Hospital by a Lifestar Air Ambulance for further treatment.
