Friday evening, Manhattan community members lit up the streets of Manhattan in a decade long tradition, the Mayor’s Christmas Spirit of the Holidays Lighted Parade.  Mayor Reddi said attendance at last weekend’s Festival of Lights was around six thousand, and was hopeful Friday’s parade would be just as popular, in part because it benefits the Flint Hills Breadbasket. Commissioner Wynn Butler emphasised how much fun the event is for all in attendance, including for the Mayors of Christmas Past. Former Manhattan Mayors are grandfathered into the judges panel. They give out 5 different awards that award Little Apple dollars of various amounts. Little…

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Bruce Weber has always tried to schedule “homecoming” games for players he recruited from out of state. It’s safe to say D.J. Johnson and Xavier Sneed appreciate the gesture. Playing in their native St. Louis, the pair combined for 36 points as Kansas State routed the Saint Louis Billikins, 84-51, Saturday night. Johnson nearly logged a double-double in the first half alone, coming just short with 13 points and nine rebounds. After SLU took a 3-0 lead to open the game, the Wildcats went on a 9-0 run, and never looked back from there. Johnson scored…

FORT WORTH, Tex. — For a Kansas State offense that has battled inconsistency all season, there were reasons to believe Saturday’s finale at TCU would be a struggle. Poor weather conditions. No Alex Barnes. Those factors didn’t bother the Wildcats one bit in a 30-6 victory in Fort Worth. K-State’s Jesse Ertz and Justin Silmon ran the ball as Bill Snyder’s team secured a fourth-place finish in the Big 12. “Regardless, heck or high water, our program is about getting better, day in and day out,” Bill Snyder said. “That’s truly what took place with us this year.” It took…

They’re also paid on days the child is out of the facility, but a bed must still be reserved. Plans call for reducing payment on reserve days…

The state expected to collect $399.9 million in taxes in November and collected $401.3 million. The surplus was 0.3 percent.
