Dr. Mark Hatesohl said he was approached in fall 2024 by Petersen’s attorney at the time, to take possession of Petersen’s patient records after he’d relinquished his chiropractic license. Arrow Coffee will soon close its doors at 1800 Claflin Road. Authorities responded to a pair of burglaries in Manhattan on Tuesday. The Riley County Police Department says a suspect broke into the Short Stop convenience store on South Port Drive by climbing through the drive-thru window and stealing cigarettes. A short time later, police arrested 31-year-old Mingo Pasillas, of Manhattan on charges of aggravated burglary. He’s currently being held in the Pottawatomie County Jail on a $20,000 bond. By Rose Gruenbacher An Arizona man was arrested Tuesday, two years after a warrant was issued and  charges of child sex crimes were filed in 2023. Jeremy Todd Welch, 46, of Tucson, was arrested at 2:06 p.m. for two counts of rape of a victim under 14 years old, two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy of a child under 14 years old and aggravated indecent liberties with a child by fondling a child under 14 years old. They expressed continued concerns about the perception the district gets from streets into the area being shut down on Friday and Saturday nights, and the decline in business they say it’s caused. By Rose Gruenbacher The eighth alleged victim of Clark Petersen testified in Riley County District Court Tuesday morning, saying Petersen “yanked” his hands out of her pants and underwear in 2019 when they heard someone outside the door of Petersen’s treatment room. Petersen, a former Manhattan chiropractor, is charged with 60 counts of sex crimes, ranging from rape to aggravated sexual battery to aggravated criminal sodomy, against 19 women. Authorities say a Manhattan man has been arrested on multiple counts of crimes against children, stemming from an October 2024 report. Twenty-four-year-old Kenneth Kelley turned himself in Monday on 13 counts of electronic solicitation of a child under 14, and 12 counts of promoting obscenity to minors. Kelley reportedly believed he was communicating with two girls under the age of 14. Police list the state of Kansas as the victim in the case. No further details have been released.
