A woman sought by Junction City Police for more than two months has been located. On May 7th, the Junction City Police Department in cooperation with the US Marshal’s Service put out a news release to local media outlets requesting assistance from the public in locating Federal Fugitive Heidi Lynn Webster. The JCPD was notified by the US Marshals Service Thursday that Webster was arrested in Urbana, Illinois by members of the Marshal’s Service. No Further Information has been released. A gunman unleashed a barrage of gunfire at two military facilities Thursday in Tennessee, killing at least four Marines and wounding a soldier and a police officer, officials said. The suspect also was killed. (
Riley County Police Department Director Brad Schoen told county commissioners Thursday morning that the department’s rollout of body cameras is still on track for August. “You haven’t heard much about body-worn cameras lately, but that’s still on track,” Schoen said. “They should start going online in August. A St. George man has entered a no contest plea to burglary and theft-related charges in Pottawatomie County District Court. Jerry Daniels, 55, entered the plea to counts of residential burglary, non-residential burglary, and felony theft. Daniels’ sentencing is set for August 20th. Daniels was arrested in February following a search warrant by the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested along with Paula Daniels, 64, after three stolen vehicles were recovered from their property, along with guns, an enclosed trailer, and vehicle parts. On July 15th, 2015 at approximately 10:20 PM officers with the Riley County Police Department were dispatched to 505 Leavenworth Street, in Manhattan for a report of an aggravated robbery and aggravated assault at Fifths Liquor.
