The opening game of the Big 12 Conference Baseball series between Kansas State and Texas Tech has been moved up to a 3 p.m. start on Friday at Tointon Family Stadium. The game between the Wildcats and Red Raiders was originally supposed to begin at 6:30 p.m. but with a 50 percent chance of rain in the weather forecast, the decision was made to shift the start to the afternoon. Riley County Police are investigating an armed robbery complaint, reported early Thursday morning in the 900 block of Village Drive. The complaint was made at the Riley County Police Department on Seth Child at 12:50 a.m.. This robbery reportedly occurred approximately one hour prior to police arriving on scene and filing the report. No injuries were listed. Upon further investigation into the matter officers found that Ryan Weber, 21, and Tyler Harris, 20, had become the victims of a robbery which involved four unknown black males, with some armed with handguns. A Marysville man has been sentenced to one year in jail for driving his vehicle into two Manhattan businesses, including Staples, last December. Jason Butler is to serve nine months and will be on parole after his release. As a condition of parole, Butler will have to comply with treatment and pay restitution in excess of $43,000. Butler was found guilty in Pottawatomie County Court last month of driving under the influence, with seven other charges in the case dismissed. Two businesses were impacted near Tuttle Creek Boulevard, including Staples and Short Go. Butler’s vehicle was later found, also heavily damaged, at…
