A Manhattan man was arrested by Riley County Police Wednesday afternoon on a warrant originating in Junction City. Robert Black, 26, was taken into custody at his home in the 1100 block of Vattier Street at approximately 3:45 PM Wednesday. Black was arrested on a warrant for parole violation, and was given “no bond.” ### Riley County Police are investigating a case involving a local elementary school. According to RCPD Public Information Officer Mat Droge, vaguely worded comments were received by USD 383 school officials in the 2700 block of Hobbs Drive, the location of Marlatt Elementary School. Three different items were featured on Wednesday evening’s Manhattan Ogden USD 383 school board winter retreat.  Although all vastly different, all were intertwined when looking at the big picture. The discussion that prompted the largest attendance was the classroom space utilization agenda item.  Teachers and principals showed up to hear the presentation, made by Associate Superintendent, Robert Seymour. Updated 2 p.m. Thursday: The inmate who died has been identified as Andrew Brown, 25, of Wamego. The cause of death has still not been released. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has been called in to assist with the investigation of an inmate’s death at the Pottawatomie County Jail. A news release from Sheriff Greg Riat indicates just after midnight Wednesday morning,  a Pottawatomie County Jail Officer, while making rounds in the jail, found a prisoner in his cell who was unresponsive.
