A preliminary hearing was held Tuesday afternoon for a Manhattan man facing several felony level drug charges. Joshua Cross was arrested back in October of last year for over a dozen drug charges after the Riley County Police Department conducted an investigation in the 1400 block of Legore Lane. Cross’s attorney, Britian Stites, informed Judge William Malcolm that a plea agreement had been reached, outlining just the felony level drug counts. Cross chose to waive his preliminary hearing for the eight felony level charges.  His arraignment was set for March 2nd at 2:30 p.m. in Judge Meryl Wilson’s courtroom.

The Manhattan man who pleaded guilty recently to an aggravated assault charge, involving a June incident, appeared in Riley County District Court Tuesday morning. Kevin Flynn, who is a medic in the Army, appeared in Judge David Stutzman’s courtroom wearing his dress blues, alongside his attorney-Barry Clark. Prosecuting State Attorney, Bethany Fields requested Flynn be sentenced to 11 months with the department of corrections, probation after, and paying $220 in costs and restitution. Riley County Police arrested a Manhattan man on a warrant for motion to revoke probation.   Benito Hernandez III, 22, was taken into custody on the warrant,  with the original offense of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Hernandez was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department Monday afternoon. His bond was set at $5,000. ### A Manhattan man has been arrested on a no bond warrant, involving a probation violation on an original charge of methamphetamine possession. Representatives for K-State are speaking out following the controversy that arose from a highly-redacted open records response regarding e-mails discussing the state budget.
