Hundreds of protesters angered at the killing of unarmed black men by white police officers marched through downtown Berkeley streets Tuesday night. Some local train service was stopped due to the protests.

Kansas State’s Football team will have a new wrinkle as they prepare for their Alamo Bowl game against UCLA on January 2. They’ll be preparing out of temporary headquarters in the West Stadium Center. The team has moved out of its normal facility the Vanier Football Complex on the north end of Bill Snyder Stadium and on Monday, crews began to demolish the complex which will be replaced by a new four-story structure expected to be completed by the start of next season. Nino Williams scored 14 points and Marcus Foster added 13 as the Kansas State Wildcats edged Bradley 50-47 Tuesday night in Men’s Basketball action at Bramlage Coliseum. The first half was marked by long scoring droughts by both teams especially K-State which went nearly 17 minutes without a Field Goal and a stretch of 8:57 without a single point. The Wildcats shot a dismal three of 13 in the first half for 23.1 percent, but the Braves were not much better going seven for 28 for an even 25 percent. Former Manhattan mayor Bruce Snead spoke to those attending the joint Manhattan city commission and parks and recreation advisory board during the strategic facilities improvement plan update on Tuesday night in city hall, and he was upbeat about the progress by the committee and researchers. Snead said the process was important, and “the character of parks and recreation facilities are just a very important dimension of the quality of life in the community.” Concerns were raised during the briefing on funding measures, but city officials were quick to point out the construction of the document is in its initial stages of…

Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Sen. An Ogden man has entered a plea in connection with an incident originally reported to be an attempted murder case in July of this year. Timothy Holmes entered a plea to aggravated robbery and intimidation of a victim. His original charges had been two aggravated robbery charges,an aggravated burglary charge, and aggravated intimidation of a witness. Holmes’ sentencing is set for January fifth in Riley County District Court. Holmes and another defendant Johnny Cossey reportedly entered an apartment in the 100 block of 10th Street in Ogden during a July 20th robbery. Cossey allegedly stabbed Vincent Taylor during the robbery.…
