People packed the K-State Student Union Wednesday night to see the candidates for the District 67 seat in the Kansas House of Representatives square off in a debate touching on healthcare, education and reproductive rights. Officers filed a report of theft in the 100 block of Bluemont on September 27, 2024, at approximately 5:32 AM.  Officers listed Wal-Mart as the victim when it was reported an associate, now former, had stolen from them on eighteen separate occasions. Total loss associated with this report is approximately $1,400. Adrian Watson, 54, of Manhattan, was arrested on September 26, 2024, at approximately 12:15 PM in the 3100 block of Anderson Ave.  Watson was arrested on the probable cause offense of driving while license cancelled and violation of the offender registration act. The Sunset Zoo recently introduced a new pair of furry friends to the local community. Zoo officials announced Thursday that resident Malayan tigers Indrah and Jaya gave birth to the Zoo’s first-ever tiger cubs on August 23rd. The births mark a significant milestone in the Zoo’s conservation efforts and supports the global effort to save the critically endangered Malayan Tiger.

Manhattan High volleyball saw its two-game win streak snapped earlier this week, competing in a triangular at Mill Valley on Monday. The Indians drop to 4-8 on the season after falling to the host Jaguars and Tonganoxie High. In the opener against Mill Valley, Manhattan fell in straight sets.
