Kansas State Athletics Director John Currie announced Monday evening that the school will add Women’s Soccer as a Varsity sport beginning in the Fall of 2016. Currie also announced that to make room for the sport, K-State will discontinue its Varsity Equestrian program at the end of the 2015-16 academic year. With the addition of Women’s Soccer, K-State becomes the last Big 12 school to add the sport. WICHITA, Kan. (AP) New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has made another trip to Kansas to campaign for Republican Gov. Sam Brownback re-election bid. Christie is chairman of the Republican Governors Association. He joined Brownback on Monday at Freddy’s Frozen Custard in Wichita where he visited with restaurant patrons. For the past several years, Columbus Day has been utilized for a mandatory Riley County staff training day.  This year’s training was held at the usual location, the Farm Bureau building, but focused on a new topic. Riley County Police reported Monday the arrest Jamal Grant, 23, of Colorado Springs Saturday afternoon for rape and aggravated sexual battery. Grant’s arrest reportedly stemmed from a June 15th, 2012 case in Riley County. Grant’s bond was set at $50,000. ### Riley County Police are investigating a rape case reported Sunday morning at 10:30.  A 20-year-old female told police she was a victim of a rape that had occurred during the early morning hours within the City of Manhattan. A third aggravated robbery/aggravated kidnapping arrest has been made by Riley County Police. Tuesday morning’s RCPD arrest report indicates Rasheem Wilson, 26, of Manhattan was taken into custody at 12:30 Monday afternoon.Wilson’s charges include aggravated robbery, aggravated kidnapping, and kidnapping, with bond set at $150,000. A Riley County Police twitter post Monday evening indicated a third arrest had been made in connection with the robbery in the 1300 block of Flint Hills Place last week.
