A Wheaton man was injured in a semi-truck accident in Pottawatomie County early Tuesday morning. Michael Hart, 36, was taken to the Onaga Community Hospital. following the accident which was reported shortly after five a.m. on K-16 and Railroad Street in North Central Pottawatomie County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports Hart was driving a 2004 Freightliner Semi on Railroad Street in Wheaton and made a right-hand turn onto K-16 highway. A Topeka man pleaded guilty Tuesday to committing robberies at businesses in Manhattan and Topeka. Christopher Wilhoite (26) was charged with two counts of commercial robbery and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm in furtherance of a robbery. Besides the robbery at Car Toyz in Topeka, Wilhoite also admitted that on April 16th, he robbed the Dollar General at 2321 Tuttle Creek Boulevard in Manhattan. He put the clerk and another employee in a bathroom at gunpoint and told them to count to 200 while he fled the store. Sentencing is set for November 21st, and both parties have…
A couple of state prison inmates being held in a prominent Geary county related murder case are up for public comment sessions and possible parole the next few months. Mikel Dreiling, 42, and Dana Flynn, 52, were both convicted and then sentenced in January of 1997 in connection with the same case. Records identify the former Salina couple as siblings, and they were sentenced to life in prison for killing Randall Sheridan in 1992. Five shotgun blasts were reporteldy involved. Five people were taken to the hospital following a two vehicle accident in Geary County late Monday morning. Jovan Toles, 19, of Junction City, Colton Barnes, 8, McKenzie Barnes, 3, Adalyn Barnes, 5, and Madison Hearn, 3, all of Illinois, were taken to Geary Community Hospital.
