MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State quarterback Jake Waters was one of 27 quarterbacks across the nation to be named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list as the nation’s top senior quarterback, the organization has announced. Waters is the fourth Wildcat to be in contention for the honor and the first since Collin Klein won the award in 2012, while Michael Bishop (1998) and Chad May (1994) were both finalists. WICHITA, Kan. (AP) Wichita police investigating the accidental shooting death of a 3-year-old boy have arrested his mother’s boyfriend on suspicion of criminal possession of a firearm. The Wichita Eagle reports investigators identified the child Wednesday as Jahmez Hunt. Police said Jahmez apparently shot himself in the chest around 5 p.m. Tuesday after climbing onto a kitchen counter, getting on top of the refrigerator and reaching into a cabinet for a handgun. Two Ft. Riley soldiers last seen at a bar in Junction City more than a week have gone missing from post. The soldiers have been identified 19-year old Richard Ferguson and 20-year old John Kappel who were last seen at the Blue Jasmine Hookah Bar in Junction City on July 22. It appears one of the soldiers was seen in the Denver area and the other might have been heading to Indiana.
