The 17-year career of K-State men’s golf coach Tim Norris came to end on Saturday when senior Daniel Wood shot a three-under par 69 in Columbia, Missouri at the NCAA Regionals. Norris announced his retirement before the season, and K-State named his replacement on Sunday, 15-year coaching veteran Grant Robbins. The 2012 Conference USA coach of the year led his alma mater, Memphis for the past 11 seasons, earning five regional bids, including the last four seasons. Robbins has ties to the area, as his wife Brooke is a Wichita native and a K-State graduate.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Alex Gordon had two firsts Sunday: six RBIs and a curtain call. Gordon went 4 for 4 with a pair of three-run homers and a career-high six RBIs as the Kansas City Royals beat the Baltimore Orioles 8-6. Gordon drove a 1-1 pitch from Ubaldo Jimenez (2-5) out to right with two outs in the fifth with Nori Aoki and Billy Butler aboard. Updated at 10 a.m. Monday: The victim of Sunday’s fatal boating accident at Tuttle Cove has been identified. Riley County Police announced shortly after 10a.m. Monday that shortly after 10:00 PM Sunday emergency crews recovered the body of Matthew Mann, 25, of Junction City. He was pronounced dead at the scene as a victim of drowning   The other two passengers who were rescued by a bystander have been identified as Jessica Regodos, 22, and Joshua Jacobs, 28, of Manhattan.  Regodos was transported to Mercy Regional Health center with a non-life threatening serious injury.
