James Johnson, 24, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 2:25 p.m. on Nov. 5, 2025 in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road on a Riley County District Court warrant for three counts of probation violation. This arrests stems from original charges of domestic battery. McNeil is charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping, aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, criminal discharge of a firearm and interference with a law enforcement officer, all in connection with the death of 58-year-old Don Stovall, who was shot and killed Oct. 19, 2024. A Manhattan woman has been arrested following an investigation into a burglary and credit card misuse that occurred earlier this year. Riley County police filed the original report on June 15, 2025, at approximately 7 p.m., listing Beto’s Meat Market as the victim. A Kansas National Guard member is facing federal charges for allegedly trying to aid the Russian military. According to an indictment released Thursday, 28-year-old Canyon Amarys of Alamogordo, New Mexico, met with someone he believed was a Russian intelligence agent and agreed to provide sensitive military equipment and photographs of Fort Riley. Prosecutors say Amarys bought a helicopter radio and planned to export it illegally to Romania as part of the scheme. Investigators later recovered the radio during a court-authorized search. The FBI’s Kansas City field office is leading the investigation, with help from Army counterintelligence and several federal agencies.…
