TOPEKA, KAN. -A Junction City man pleaded guilty Monday to a federal child pornography charge, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said. Scott Deppish, 43, Junction City, Kan., pleaded guilty to one count of accessing child pornography with intent to view. In his plea, he admitted that that on Feb. 12, 2013, investigators served a search warrant and seized his desktop computer and two lose hard drives. They found images depicting prepubescent children engaged in sexual conduct. They also found images of a known victim in what is referred to as the “Abby” series, which were taken in the state of Idaho.…

The Geary County Sheriff’s office is reporting a fatal accident Saturday, involving a farm tractor rollover. Deputies responded to the 12,000 block of Humboldt Creek Road shortly after 9:30 Saturday night. The investigation revealed Larry Bliss, 77, sustained fatal injuries due to the accident.   Geary County Sheriff Tony Wolf tells KMAN his dispatchers got the call form the victim’s son about 9:30 pm Saturday night. Bliss was on his property cutting wood and when he did not return to the house his wife became worried and called their son to come look for him.Sheriff Wolf adds Bliss was using the tractor…

Over 450 people crowded the Manhattan Conference Center to celebrate the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation’s (GMCF) first annual awards ceremony. Foundation president, Vern Henricks said its long been his desire to recognize the work of volunteers, donors and non-profit employees in the area. “We really felt like there was an opportunity here to make people aware of some of the needs and some of the great things our non-profits are taking care of for the community,” Henricks said.
