The Junction City man charged in the shooting death of Crystal Fisher (25), almost exactly four years ago, will be sentenced soon. A federal jury returned a verdict Thursday convicting Marcus Roberson (32) of murdering the woman to keep her from giving information about his drug trafficking to federal law enforcement officers. Roberson faces one count of murder, one count of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine, and one count of conspiracy to distribute powder cocaine. Manhattan High senior Matt Liotta signed his letter of intent to play soccer next season at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. NESU wasn’t the only school that Liotta was looking at. Colorado State Pueblo, Fort Hays State and also Missouri State. “I think division II right now just ended up being the right level for me,” Liotta said. A competency hearing has been set in a rape case, involving an alleged 13-year-old victim. Jason Nazario had an appearance Thursday in Geary County District Court in the case, and his attorney filed the motion for competency, with a competency hearing date of April 23rd set. Nazario was arrested on the rape charge by Junction City Police December 18th of last year.
An Eskridge woman has entered a plea in Pottawatomie county court in a case KMAN has been following since last summer. Stephanie Rush, 29, pled no contest to felony fleeing and eluding in connection with a case that began at Wal-Mart in Manhattan in July of last year. Law enforcement authorities at the time indicated Rush took possession of several items from the jewelry and make-up counters at Wal-Mart and got into a vehicle. Police followed the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop when Rush fled to HIghway 24 near St. George and entered Highway 177, driving south to I-70. Her…
On Monday, March 10, a guardrail improvement project will begin on a .5-mile mile stretch of U.S. 24 approximately one mile northwest of the K-113 and U.S. 24 intersection in Riley County. Project work includes the removal of the existing guard cable fence, grading work and installation of new guardrail.
