K-State went ice cold from the field, as they shot just 28 percent for the game, as the Wildcats fell to Texas, 67-53, at the Erwin Center in Austin on Sunday afternoon. K-State was led by Leticia Romero with 15 points, six rebounds, a block and a steal. The Cats made just four of 19 field goal attempts in the first half and trailed the Longhorns 36-21 at halftime. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Tuttle Creek Lake sponsored its 26th annual Eagle Day, Saturday morning. The event began at the Manhattan Fire Station Headquarters with an overview of eagle nesting in Kansas, followed by a live raptor program featuring live hawks and owls. Eagle day concluded with a bird-watching bus tour through Tuttle Creek State Park. The Manhattan man, accused in the home invasion case back in October of 2012, will enter a new trial after his initial trial concluded with a hung jury. Levertis Horne (22) faces two count of aggravated robbery, two counts of attempted aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and aggravated battery.  During this incident, authorities said a K-State student was shot in the upper torso. Horne appeared in court Friday for a pre-trial hearing.  His second jury trial has been set for February 3rd and is expected to last six days

Sunset Zoo will be closed to the public on Sunday, January 5 due to winter weather. While the Zoo is closed to the public, Zoo staff are on grounds caring for the animal collection and clearing snow from the park.
