(K-State Athletics) – Kansas State junior women’s golfer Carla Bernat carded a 4-over par 76 on Friday during the first round of the 2024 NCAA Championship held at the par-72, 6,297-yard La Costa Champions Course at Omni La Costa Resort. (K-State Athletics) – Eleven strikeouts from Jackson Wentworth led to K-State’s eighth series win of the season, as the Wildcats defeated BYU, 2-1, Friday night at Tointon Family Stadium. Wentworth turned in his second quality start, as the redshirt-sophomore held the Cougars to one run over his career-long eight innings to earn the victory (4-4). (K-State Athletics) – The K-State pitching staff combined for a program record 21 strikeouts while Kyan Lodice delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the 12th to hand the Wildcats a 7-6 victory over BYU Thursday night at Tointon Family Stadium. Officers filed a report of aggravated arson and arson in the 100 block of Eighth Street in Ogden on May 16, 2024, at approximately 9:33 PM.  Officers listed three victims; a 57-year-old male, 28-year-old female, and a 29-year-old male when it was reported a known suspect pour gas onto a vehicle and set it on fire.  The fire then spread to another vehicle and the residence.  There were no injuries as a result of the arson. Total estimated loss is still being calculated.

Manhattan residents were treated on Thursday with perfect weather for the 2024 kickoff to the “Third Thursdays” annual series of street fairs. The event featured an interactive window mural of Vincent van Gogh’s “Starry Night” on the 4th street windows, as well as watercolor art, pottery, wood turning, henna tattoo, cross stitch, a cake walk, and many kids activities.
