TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) Police in Topeka say they’ve received nearly a dozen tips of possibly credible sightings of two missing girls and their brother. The children are identified as Stephanie Witten, 13, Seth Witten, 12, and Michelle Witten, 10. Their parents reported them missing just before 11 p.m. Wednesday, and they still had not been found by late Thursday afternoon. No Amber Alerts have been issued. Police Capt. City and County Commissioners spent their joint meeting, Thursday afternoon, discussing various projects within their areas. Various individuals provided information on current, and future, projects. “Growth” seems to be the theme in Riley and Pottawatomie Counties, as well as the city of Manhattan. Pottawatomie County Commissioner, Gary Yenzer mentioned USD 383 is currently looking to purchase land to build a new grade school, as over 160 students from Pottawatomie County are expected to attend the current school. Riley County EMS responded to an emergent call concerning an accident on Thursday. EMS responded to the incident at the 2300 block of Bellerive Drive a little after 10 a.m. An individual’s arm was caught in an industrial drum which caused an injury to the wrist. A Manhattan woman struck a semi-trailer at around 08:30 on Thursday morning on US 24 near mile marker 340. According to Kansas Highway patrol reports 19-year-old Kurylynn Comer was driving her car eastbound on highway 24 when she for some reason crossed the center line and struck the tractor trailer. Comer was taken to Stormont Vail Regional Medical Center for her injuries, and police say she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

Subway reported a theft to the Riley County Police Department on Wednesday. Managers allege an internal theft from the 12th through the 16th of April resulted in$1,227 loss. A substantial bond has been given to two Geary county men after they were charged with several different counts of sex related crimes Geary county law enforcement officials took Jordan Young into custody and charged him with five counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, criminal sodomy, and solicitation of sexual exploitation of a child. Young, appeared with his council in a Geary county courtroom Tuesday and expressed his desire to waive his preliminary hearing, and a July 31st date was set for his next appearance.
