Junction City Police have released the name of the victim in the home invasion case KMAN previously reported on. The shooting victim has been identified as Jose M. Paz (22) of Junction City. The autopsy was scheduled for 2:00 Tuesday afternoon, and the incident is still under investigation. The K-State volleyball team closed out the season with a three set sweep of then #25 Iowa State on Saturday night. On Monday, the Big 12 conference handed out postseason honors to a pair of Wildcats. Senior middle blocker Kaitlynn Pelger became the second player in school history to be named first team all-Big 12 three years in a row. Pelger ends her K-State career, second in points, third in kills, seventh in aces, and eighth in blocks. Wildcat setter Katie Brand was also pegged to the Big 12’s all-freshman team. Junction City Police are investigating a fatal shooting, reported early Tuesday morning. JCPD Lt. Jeff Childs indicates just before 1:30 a.m., members of the Junction City Police Department and EMS were dispatched to 110 West 16th Street, Apt. #2 in reference to a home invasion where a subject had been shot. Upon arrival contact was made with two victims, one who was transported to the Geary Community Hospital and later pronounced dead. The second victim received minor injuries and declined medical treatment. The identity of the deceased victim is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.…
The Whoville company brought a little Holiday cheer as the 50′ tall (organizers put it actually at 52′) tree in Blue Earth Plaza was lit on Friday night.
