Updated Wednesday: Riley County police now say six juvenile male suspects have been identified in connection with sexual exploitation cases that involve 10 female victims. RCPD Public Information Officer Mat Droge indicates the incidents occurred between June of last year and May of this year. Meanwhile Riley County USD 378 Superintendent Brad Starnes wanted to clarify that contrary to some media reports, the case is not connected to his schools. After claiming a Big 12 title, the league honored a pair of K-Staters when they announced their final weekly honors. Wildcat sophomore outfielder/designated hitter Mitch Meyer has caught fire down the stretch and was named Big 12 player of the week. Meyer went 6-for-12 with a double and four RBI in the series victory over then #19 Oklahoma. K-State will play a total of 12 matches in 2013 against eight different teams who went to the NCAA tournament last season.  But the highlight of this fall’s schedule might be an opportunity for Wildcats to see international competition.  Just before Big 12 play begins, K-State will host Italy’s under-23 national team on Tuesday, September 24th at Ahearn Fieldhouse.  The Italians will be on their way to the under-23 world championships in Mexico and will face the Cats as a warmup. The Manhattan High boys golf team finished 7th in the 6A state tournament at Meadowbrook Golf & Country Club in Prairie Village on Monday.   The Tribe shot a team score of 323.  Blue Valley West is the state champ with a score of 300, Shawnee Mission East was six shots back for second, while Washburn Rural was another stroke back in third.  Scott Woods led MHS, finishing 18th with a 78. HOUSTON (AP) Matt Dominguez hit a three-run homer and Jason Castro added a solo shot to give the Houston Astros a 6-5 win over the Kansas City Royals on Monday night. The Astros trailed by one in the fourth inning before Dominguez launched his fourth homer of the season into the Crawford Boxes in left field to give Houston a 6-4 lead. Castro’s homer came in Houston’s two-run third inning before Kansas City took the lead on a three-run home run by Miguel Tejada in the fourth. It was his first homer since 2011. LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) Memphis forward Tarik Black is transferring to Kansas and will be eligible to play immediately. Black has graduated from Memphis and has one year of eligibility left. Last season, Black started five of 32 games played for Memphis and averaged 8.1 points and 4.8 rebounds. His 58.9 field goal percentage was second best on the team. He had 20 blocked shots and 22 steals at the power forward position. For his career, Black has averaged 9.3 points and 4.9 rebounds and made 60 starts.

Angel Kendrick (19) of Manhattan was sentenced Monday to serve eight months in the Kansas Department of Corrections for aggravated battery and sexual battery. Kendrick was originally charged with rape, but entered a plea agreement on May 17th. According to the Riley County Police Department, the incident occurred between the 15th and 16th of July, 2012.
