Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Tuttle Creek and Fort Riley Boulevards on July 26, 2023, around 10:15 p.m. After arriving on scene, officers found a 1976 Ford truck driven by Zhang Guorong, 51, had turned south onto Fort Riley Blvd. and was hit by a northbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Kyle Field, 31, of Manhattan during the turn. Field was found to be intoxicated and arrested for driving under the influence. Big 12 presidents and chancellors voted unanimously Wednesday night to accept Colorado as a new member, clearing the way for the school to leave the Pac-12 and rejoin the conference, a person with knowledge of the meeting told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Big 12 was not making its expansion plans public with Colorado still needing to go through a formal process on its campus and officially apply for membership. 22-year-old Jimmie Dodson of Topeka was arrested around 1:15 p.m. on July 25th on two Riley County District Court warrants for probation violation. These warrants stem from past charges for two separate incidents. In September of 2019, Dodson was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle, theft, attempted burglary of a motor vehicle, attempted theft and two counts of criminal damage to property. Dodson was also charged, in September of 2020, with possession of meth and possession of THC. Dodson is now confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $30,000.
