The Kansas State Wildcats have now won 36 Baseball games this season, but none may be more impressive than the one they pulled off Saturday afternoon at Hoglund Ballpark in Lawrence. Trailing 6-0 at one point, the Wildcats scored the next nine including the the three in the ninth that would provide the winning margin in a 9-6 victory over Kansas in Game 2 of the Sunflower Showdown. SALINA, Kan. (AP) Salina police expect to make more arrests in the death of a woman whose body was found this week. Officers arrested a Salina man Wednesday on suspicion of premeditated first-degree murder in the death of Kristin Tyler. Tyler’s body was found Thursday in a ravine off Interstate 135 near Salina.

Starting at the new home of the Wonder Workshop Children’s Museum, the Call Me Manhattan trolley tour provided Manhattan residents the opportunity to view historical sites and homes. Some of the sites featured on the tour included:  Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, George Giles’ house, Phi Beta Sigma house, Wyandotte Colony Goodnow Park, and Henry Strong’s house.  At all of the 22 sites, an informational panel displaying a telephone number with a code, allowed participants to access the audio history of the home/place which shared the stories of the families who established them. The Yard Arts Classics Car Club held its annual car show today day with car enthusiasts from all over the area gathering to show off their vehicles . Car Show Chair for the club Pat Caffey says event organizers expect around one hundred participants for this year’s event, which is slightly higher than last year, when just under one hundred participated .
