Just days after a snowstorm dumped more than nine inches of snow in some parts of the Manhattan area, another storm is on the horizon which could add to that total. The National Weather Service office in Topeka has issued a Winter Storm Warning for all of Northeast Kansas from Midnight Sunday through Noon Tuesday. A mixture of rain, freezing rain and snow is expected to develop early Monday Morning. A gradual transition to snow would occur late Sunday Night into Monday Morning. (AP) Administrators at some Kansas hospitals are asking state legislators to avoid making a formal statement about expanding Medicaid following the federal government’s overhaul of health care. Kansas Hospital Association President Tom Bell testified Friday against a resolution declaring the Legislature’s opposition to expanding Medicaid. WICHITA, Kan. (AP) A 70-year-old Wichita woman is dead after her car collided with a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train near McConnell Air Force Base. The Wichita Eagle reports witnesses say the victim’s Ford Focus began to slide before it collided with the side of the engine pulling the 69-car train at 10:45 a.m. Friday.
