Kansas State women’s basketball head coach Jeff Mittie has added a decorated backcourt piece to the 2025-26 roster, as Tess Heal has signed with the Wildcats. Heal is a product of Melbourne, Australia, and is the second player in program history from Australia (Rebekah Dallinger, 2021-24). The Tallahassee, Florida, native was one of the top sixth-men in the country, coming off the bench for the Seahawks averaging 11.6 points per game. As a junior last season, the 6-foot-9, 210-pound forward reached double figures 22 times on 66.1% shooting, while grabbing four rebounds a game in 19.3 minutes played. The Wildcats won’t return a player with more than nine starts in a K-State uniform next season following the news Monday afternoon that junior point guard Dug McDaniel is leaving Manhattan. McDaniel is the fifth Wildcat to hit the portal this offseason, and the second, along with shooting guard Brendan Hausen, who was thought to be a major building block for next year’s roster. At Monday’s meeting, Riley County’s MPO planning manager told officials to expect some changes in infrastructure to accommodate the gradual rise in EV use. “A lot of the world is going that way and we’re being dragged into it,” said Jared Tremblay, planning manager for the Metropolitan Planning Organization. “In Kansas we sold 88,000 cars last year. Holler, 23, of Manhattan was driving his Toyota Corolla, registered to Virginia, going north and driving on the paved median of K-177, just south of the ramp for Interstate Highway 70. The formula of hard work and family commitment worked for the Riley County senior, and she put together the best season of her high school career this winter.
