KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Andy Reid knew the tall, gangly tight end with the soft hands, deceptive speed and unique ability to get wide open could become a star the moment he first laid eyes on him during a college football game about a decade ago. Travis Kelce was playing for Cincinnati at the time, and Reid showed up at one of his games to watch his own son, Spencer, who was then a tailback for Temple. Reid already knew a bit about the Kelce family having just drafted Travis’s big brother, Jason, to play center for his Philadelphia…

Kansas State University will be relocating its indoor track facility from Ahearn Fieldhouse, following unanimous approval this week by the Kansas Board of Regents. The university had previously been approved to renovate the track, now looking to see the facility relocated to the existing indoor football practice building located at the K-State Athletics Complex on campus. The move is a result of decisions to demolish the Natatorium and Gymnasium buildings that adjoin Ahearn – part of an effort by K-State administration to reduce what they call underutilized and inefficient spaces. Ahearn Fieldhouse will remain in place amid the razing. The…

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Chiefs could set a franchise record Sunday in Houston with their 19th consecutive game of at least 300 yards of offense, and in the past eight of them, Patrick Mahomes and Co. have topped the 400-yard mark. All without two of their top wide receivers. That could change soon: The Chiefs hope Kadarius Toney, who practiced last week after a hamstring injury but was unavailable against the Broncos, will get back on the field for the first time in nearly a month. And they could have fellow wide receiver Mecole Hardman back in short…
For the first time since the start of the pandemic, Manhattan Regional Airport has seen near pre-pandemic numbers throughout 2022. Manhattan’s Kansas Jet Center had an exceptionally good year, and KJC General Manager Patti Robyler presented some numbers to the Airport Advisory Board during their meeting earlier this week. Some of this success can be attributed to the influx of travel during K-State’s football season. Robyler said they were able to reach one million gallons of fuel consumed back in November, and she hopes to break past 1.2 million before the end of the year. K-State Athletics’ Josh McCowan anticipates…
