The 17-year-old tiger was treated at the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine by Dr. Trenton Shrader who is the assistant Professor of Exotic Pet, Wildlife, and Zoological Medicine and works closely with Sunset Zoo head keeper Caitlin Kenney. The 250 pound cat has osteoarthritis in both of his elbows, which caused him a significant amount of pain and mobility issues. Officers report a a vehicle traversed a parking lot, striking a curb and a sign before heading downhill through some bushed before coming to a stop. The Wabaunsee County Sherriff’s Office captured approximately 11 pounds of cocaine early Sunday morning, according to their official Facebook page. Dickinson and Marshall Counties assisted with the bust that saw one suspect taken into custody without incident. The traffic stop on I-70, at mile marker 322, where police K-9 units detected the drugs in the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect is currently being held within the Wabaunsee County jail pending bond.
