A Manhattan woman is in jail following an arrest Friday afternoon on several charges. Riley County Police say 33-year-old Tanasha Dupree was arrested at the courthouse on a warrant for probation violation, stemming from earlier charges of aggravated assault, interference with law enforcement, criminal threat fleeing and eluding and battery. Online court records show most of the charges are related to a March 24 incident, where Dupree allegedly assaulted a man and battered and threatened a woman. The Riley County Police Department arrested a Georgia man Friday, for charges that include distribution of a controlled substance causing death. The man is currently held in the Riley County Jail on a $150,000 bond. Rhante Rashean Brown, 32, of Savannah, GA, was booked with RCPD at 11:00 p.m., after being extradited from Georgia. He was arrested by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 19. Brown is charged with distribution of a controlled substance causing death, two counts of distribution of 10 to less than 100 units of an opiate and three counts of use of a communication facility…

The Wildcats (4-1-1) suffered two second-half goals by Nebraska (5-0-2) for their first loss of the season. Things looked promising to start for Colleen Corbin’s team out of the gate. Sarah Drake, 35, of Park City, was arrested on September 7, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., in the 1000 block of Seth Child Road in Manhattan, on a Riley County District warrant for failure to appear. A new common consumption area was established in July, opening the opportunity for customers to freely roam a specified area with an alcoholic beverage. By Emma Loura K-State’s Anderson Hall will be looking good as new after upcoming renovations, with restored bricks, new balconies and a walking plaza in place of Mid-Campus Drive. At Friday’s State of the University address, K-State president Richard Linton presented the Campus Master Plan and explained changes planned for the university, from a new walking trail along Campus Creek to renovating Ahearn Field House into an event space. Riley County Police recorded 18 incidents over the weekend, including a stolen vehicle, multiple larceny cases, and an unattended death, according to activity logs. Among the incidents, officers responded to two non-injury crashes Saturday afternoon, a larceny report at Popeyes on Bluemont Avenue, and a stolen vehicle report at 1121 Claflin Road. Police also reported a drug case near Anderson Avenue and North 52nd Street in Riley and a violation of a court order Saturday morning. Four arrests were made during the reporting period. Photos by Lewis Marien The Army offense could not be stopped Saturday evening, as Kansas State fell  24-21 to the Black Knights in a game where the defense struggled to find stops, and the offense couldn’t muster enough firepower. The Black Knights executed multiple touchdown drives of 14 or more plays, as the Wildcat offense was kept off the field for the vast majority of the second half. Army ended the game outgaining the Wildcats by almost 90 yards, including getting out-rushed by 163 yards.

The Riley County Police Department responded to 25 incidents on September 5 and early September 6, ranging from injury accidents and thefts to drug-related arrests and welfare checks.
