A truck driver has been arrested in connection to a Thursday morning fatality accident involving a pedestrian. Officers were called out just before 6 a.m. Thursday to the 700 block of South 4th Street in Manhattan for a hit-and-run accident, involving a cattle truck. Arriving officers discovered the body of a 32-year-old man at the scene, but have not released his name. Further details regarding his death weren’t provided. On Thursday, the RCPD director presented county officials with the past month’s crime report. “For vehicle burglaries, we were about 56 percent below the five-year average,” said Brian Peete, the RCPD director. “This was the fourth-consecutive five-year low for vehicle burglaries since December 2024, which had the second-highest reports of the last five years.
