TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) Secretary of State Kris Kobach is preparing to outline efforts by his office to improve online access to Kansas business records. Kobach scheduled a Monday news conference to discuss the initiative. The secretary of state’s office is responsible for maintaining hundreds of thousands of records for Kansas businesses. 1) The Riley County Police Department said a criminal damage to property  was caused by a Fort Riley Solider Saturday. RCPD reported that Christopher Obryne, 25, caused $2000 worth of damage to a vehicle and was arrested. The dispute was labeled as domestic by the RCPD. Obryne’s bond was set at $1000 and later bonded out. 2) On Saturday, Aleisha Duckett, 32, reported to the Riley County Police Department that her three, white gold, wedding bands and one, Princess Diana ring, were taken from the 2500 block of Farm Bureau Road. The K-State offense broke out of their slump with a couple of double digit efforts against Baylor this weekend, but the Bears stayed a step ahead of the Cats in a three game sweep.  K-State jumped out to a 10-4 lead on Saturday, but Baylor pulled within two runs when the game was suspended.  The Bears won 14-12 when it was resumed Sunday, and also outscored the Cats 12-11 in 11 innings in the regularly scheduled game. (AP)   Travis Hafner hit one of the longest home runs in Kauffman Stadium history, Shelly Duncan homered and drove in three runs and the Cleveland Indians romped past the Kansas City Royals 13-7 Sunday for a three-game sweep.  Casey Kotchman and Jason Kipnis homered on consecutive pitches for Cleveland in the eighth inning.   For the first time in the Indians’ 111-year history, they scored at least eight runs in their first three road games of a season.  Royals outfielder Mitch Maier pitched the ninth. He worked a scoreless inning, allowing one hit.

The Kansas State Highway Patrol says a collision between a truck and a van carrying an eight-member construction crew killed two people and injured six others. KHP Lt. Greg Harkrader tells KMAN the accident occurred early this (Monday) morning. The accident was one mile north of Milford and killed the drivers of the two vehicles. The six injured passengers in the van had to be cut from the wreckage. Dying in the accident were Lancy Davis II, 39,  of Palmer and Juan Perez, 52, of Wichita.
