Two people are hospitalized following a shooting in Junction City early Friday morning. Junction City Police were dispatched to the area of 1450 North Calhoun Street, in reference to shots being fired. As the units arrived on the scene a subject identified as 25 year old Michael Washington, of Junction City arrived at the Geary Community Hospital emergency room suffering from two gunshot injuries. It was learned that Washington was involved in the incident at 1450 North Calhoun Street. Upon arrival  at the scene, a second subject suffering from a gunshot injury was located. Wade Hinkle hit a towering tie-breaking two-run homer in the seventh inning, and K-State won a wild 9-7 series opener over Sacred Heart on Thursday night at Tointon Family Stadium.  11 runs went up on the board in the first inning, first four by the Pioneers, followed by seven by the Cats including a Dan Klein grand slam.  The scoreboard went quiet for the next five innings before Sacred Heart tied the game with three runs in the top of the 7th before Hinkle’s blast.  Robert Youngdahl took his first win as a Wildcat out of the bullpen and Nate…

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP)   Three of four TCU football players accused of selling marijuana as part of a six-month drug sting has been charged with felonies.  Defensive tackle D.J. Yendrey, linebacker Tanner Brock and offensive tackle Ty Horn are among 14 people charged with Thursday in the TCU drug investigation.  All three are charged with delivering a quarter-ounce to five pounds of marijuana.  Cornerback Devin Johnson was charged last month with three cases of delivering a quarter-ounce to five pounds of marijuana.  Convictions could mean up to two years in state jail for Brock, Horn and Johnson.  Convictions could…

Riley County police have arrested three people in connection with a reported sex trafficking case, involving a 15 year old juvenile. Taken into custody were  Zachary Bevilcqua, 19,  of Winfield,  Kendra Gonzalez, 17,  of Wichita, and an unidentified 15-year-old girl. RCPD Lt. Michael Quintanar indicates detectives received a call from Sedgwick County authorities requesting assistance in locating a runaway juvenile from their area. They believed the female juvenile was in the Manhattan area and was involved in prostitution at one of the local hotels. Wednesday Evening at around 11:45 pm Riley County police say the McDonald’s at Westloop was robbed by an African-American male wearing black pants,black ski mask, black hoodie and black shoes.  The suspect reportedly entered the store with a black handgun, and demanded money. The night manager and employees gave the suspect rolled coins and money.  The suspect then left the restaurant and witnesses say he walked along the sidewalk in front of Dillons, and then ran across Claflin Avenue to nearby apartments. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP)   The Kansas City Chiefs have re-signed unrestricted free agent defensive back Travis Daniels.  The team announced the move Wednesday without disclosing terms.  Daniels has appeared in 41 games over three seasons with the Chiefs, with 47 tackles (28 solo) and three interceptions.  He also plays on special teams.  Daniels is a seven-year NFL veteran who was a fourth-round pick (104th overall) out of LSU by Miami in 2005.
