Starting January 2nd, Manhattan will begin charging for parking in the Aggieville Parking garage, with the first two hours free – with street parking also limited to two hours from 8 to 5 on weekdays. The Commission Tuesday unanimously approved the regulations – previously considering a 1-hour free parking time frame at a prior meeting before agreeing to a compromise on the matter with the Aggieville Business Association. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Royals have selected several potential sites to build a replacement for aging Kauffman Stadium, owner John Sherman said Tuesday. Commissioners will vote on the final development plans for the proposed Midtown Development on a currently city-owned parking lot at 12th and Laramie Streets in Aggieville. City officials previously agreed as part of the plan to sell that lot for a dollar for the development of the 40 million dollar, 5-story multi-use building. The Commission will also vote on a pre-development agreement with the Manhattan Housing Authority for a proposed 20 million dollar low income senior housing building on a city-owned parking lot at 5th and Pierre Streets.
