Members of the 2022-2023 Flint Hills Regional Leadership Program were honored during their graduation ceremony February 2nd. Since September, all 26 graduates have met and worked with various communities and leaders from across Geary, Pottawatomie, Riley and Wabaunsee counties. During the ceremony, FHRLP Executive Director Jack Lindquist recognized these graduates who all “found and embraced the most important component of true servant leadership.” Graduate and Wamego Chief of Police Paul Schliffke said creating connections was one of his biggest takeaway from the program. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs activated running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire from injured reserve Monday and placed wide receiver Mecole Hardman on the list for the second time as they finalize their roster for the Super Bowl. Edwards-Helaire, a 2020 first-round pick, has been out since sustaining a high ankle sprain during a win over the Chargers on Nov. 20. That didn’t stop the Boilermakers from remaining at the top anyway. The Boilermakers earned 38 of 62 first-place votes in the poll released Monday to remain at No. 1 for a third straight week and seventh time this season. A Manhattan man jailed on a murder charge was arrested Friday while in custody on a warrant for trafficking contraband into the facility and for criminal damage to property. RCPD says the warrant stems from a December 18 incident where 28-year-old Kamahl Bobian reportedly smashed an inmate kiosk and telephone and took broken glass from the kiosk and passed it along to another inmate. The warrant holds a bond of $5,000. Bobian is jailed as he awaits a June trial. He’s accused in the September 2021 death of his wife Shanell Bobian. A public dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place Friday as the City of Manhattan unveils its new $22.5 million Joint Maintenance Facility at U.S. 24 and Levee Drive. City Manager Ron Fehr, Mayor Mark Hatesohl and representatives from BBN Architects, McCown Gordon Construction and Public Works Director Rob Ott will provide comments in the north vehicle repair and maintenance shop. The event will begin at 2:30 p.m. Friday with the ribbon cutting slated to take place at 3 p.m. Afterward, attendees will be guided through parts of the main indoor facility.

NEW YORK (AP) — Fox says it has sold out all of its Super Bowl LVII ad space as of the end of January. The big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles takes place on Sunday. The Super Bowl is advertising’s biggest stage, with advertisers jockeying to get their products in front of the more than 100 million people that watch each year. Mark Evans, executive vide president of ad sales for Fox Sports, said a few ads went for more than $7 million for a 30-second spot. Most sold between $6 million and $7 million.…
