Officers filed a report for burglary in the 2300 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. in Manhattan on June 9, 2023, around 6:45 a.m. after being called to Wildcat Pawn and Jewelry for the report of their business alarm being activated. After arriving on scene, officers found the business had been broken into and an Aero Precision M4E1 worth approximately $1,100 had been stolen. Around 8:30 a.m. officers were called to the 1400 block of Flint Hills Pl. to investigate a possible stolen car. Oxavier Ruffin, 22, of Manhattan was arrested on June 8, 2023, around 11:15 a.m. on his two Riley County District Court for probation violation and interference with law enforcement and one Manhattan Municipal Court warrant for motion to revoke diversion for the offense of driving while suspended. The probation violation warrant stems from original charges of two counts each of domestic battery and violation of a protection order. After five years of renovations and installations, the U.S. Cavalry Museum at Fort Riley is finally reopening its doors following a ribbon cutting ceremony next week. Museum Complex Director Robert Smith said it’s exciting to showcase, for the first time since 2018, the history of the U.S. Cavalry, which has a special tie to Fort Riley.
