Officers conducted a search warrant in the 3300 block of Woods Dr. on April 13, 2023, around 9:00 a.m. which led to the arrest of James Watkins, 41, of Manhattan. Watkins was arrested in connection to multiple occasions of domestic battery and threats to a 35-year-old woman known to him, violation of a protection order, and a March 28 altercation where it was reported he hit the woman, took her phone and would not let her leave for several hours. A St. George woman is jailed on a host of charges stemming from a crash Tuesday in Randolph. The Riley County Police Department responded to the intersection of West Randolph and North 1st Streets where a Dodge Grand Caravan was located still running after striking a power pole. The driver, 33-year-old Krystle Zimmer, was located by police and found to be intoxicated. As they attempted to arrest her, police say Zimmer resisted and attempted to run away from officers. Manhattan City Commissioners discussed, during their Tuesday work session, revisions to resolutions and bylaws for the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. City staff received feedback from the advisory board before presenting the proposed changes to the commission. One such change includes the addition of a term limit, something the board currently does not have. City Commissioner Usha Reddi, with agreement from a majority of commissioners, said this change is too restrictive.
