The 2022 edition of Manhattan’s Visitor Guide is now available. Karen Hibbard, Convention and Visitors Bureau Director, says due to funding constraints, they had to use the same guide last year as they did in 2020. Manhattan City Commissioners Tuesday approved a March 1 date for a public hearing on the expansion of the downtown STAR bond district to include the new location of a proposed museum. WICHITA, Kan. — Police in Wichita say a shooting on the south side of the city has left two people dead, including a 17-year-old boy. Television station KAKE reports that the shooting happened just before 9:30 Monday night. Officers called to the scene found the teen and a female victim with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle that had crashed into a garage at an apartment complex. Police say the teen died at the scene, while the other victim was rushed to hospital where she later died. Officials have not released the victims’ names, and police have not announced any suspects…

Renovations at the Manhattan Public Library will see the installation of a new sorting machine at the circulation desk. Manhattan Public Library Development and Public Relations Coordinator Madison Ogle joined KMAN’s In Focus Monday, saying the circulation desk has moved amid the planned 10-week project. “It is a pre-sorting machine that, when items get returned, will help reduce staff time when they’re having to sort the items,” Ogle says. “So it will actually speed up the process of returning items to the actual shelves so that patrons can find them easier and hopefully sooner.” Ogle says with the decision was…

Ascension Via Christi President and CEO Bob Copple tells KMAN the difficulty is the symptoms are all very similar between the illnesses circulating right now.
