By Emma Loura Members of the Kansas Board of Regents on Wednesday took their first look at a proposed rate increase of 2.24% for a modest double-occupancy room with limited dining options at K-State in the 2025-26 school year. The jump for a newly renovated or constructed room with unlimited dining options would be 3.52%. Jalen Fures, 26, of District Height, MD, was arrested on November 20, 2024, at approximately 7:17 PM.  Fures was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for Failure to Appear. The original charges in this matter are for aggravated domestic battery- strangulation x 2 and criminal damage to property. Total bond in this matter was set at $8,000. Fures was not confined at the time of this report.

The project consulting team of Stantec and BBN Architects have started a third round of public engagement for the East Manhattan Gateway Plan project on behalf of the City of Manhattan, and are looking for resident input. The East Manhattan Gateway Plan is a corridor and area plan for the area extending along the U.S. Highway 24 corridor from the Manhattan Town Center entrance to Hopkins Creek Road.
