Jordan Smith, who has been a part of the K-State women’s tennis program since 2015, was named the seventh head tennis coach in program history Monday, as announced by K-State director of athletics Gene Taylor. According to a release from K-State Athletics. Smith just completed his third season at K-State, serving as assistant coach for two seasons before being promoted to associate head coach in January 2018. He replaces Danielle Steinberg, who was introduced as the head coach of Colorado on June 12 after four years at K-State. (AP) Francisco Lindor had an exceptional Monday after a very good Sunday. Lindor homered twice, including a grand slam, and finished with a career-high seven RBI as the Cleveland Indians beat the Kansas City Royals 9-3 on Monday night. K-State redshirt senior Kylee Zumach was selected to the 2018 Preseason All-Big 12 Volleyball Team, the conference office announced Wednesday. This is according to a release from K-State. Zumach, a 6-foot-4 outside hitter, earns her second career honor after being named to the preseason list in 2014 and is one of 16 players in the league to receive the preseason distinction. Kansas State offensive lineman Dalton Risner has been chosen as the 2017-18 Big 12 Male Sportsperson of the Year, the conference office announced Tuesday.
